Your Job The Equipment Technology and Services (ET&S) business platform for Koch Engineered Solutions (KES) is seeking a Cost Accounting Manager to support our Western Hemisphere business .
The role will be instrumental in supporting the Americas team by ensuring accuracy of data, financial reporting and value creating.
The successful candidate will be a change agent, championing transformation by defining what good looks like, developing solid partnerships with the business to constantly improve results, and more fully applying Principle Based Management.
This role will be located in Wichita, KS, Houston, TX, or Tulsa, OK and will report to the Regional Controller.
What You Will Do Evaluate and challenge the cost structure and profitability of projects, product lines, customers, business units etc.
to inform strategic decisions including capital investment, cost, and pricing strategies Actively engage and develop strong relationships with the Project Management team(s), the controller organization, financial operations, and other stakeholders to better understand, anticipate, and manage projects Manage and analyze the collection, recording, and allocation of project costs and revenue; ensuring accurate project profit and loss calculations, budget vs.
actual cost, and developing and providing project financial performance and profitability to project/program management Responsible for establishing the best practices in lifecycle project accounting from creating project accounts in ERP, to tracking projects and project budget, validating invoicing, project close-out, and reconciling overall project payables and receivables to project budgets Maintain quality control standards and procedures for generating accurate and precise project-related financial records using ERP (Infor) Build visualization that supports the required knowledge for business decisions Drive transformation by respectfully challenging historical practices and leveraging technology enablers and automation Lead the team that is regularly monitoring and analyzing activities, costs, operations and forecast data to determine business progress and deliver analytical insights for decision making.
Improve the speed to decisions through effective use of PBM economic thinking principles.
Develop this capability in others through coaching Partner with internal KES/KII capabilities (e.
g.
, controller organization, data analytics, etc.
) to develop in-depth data analytics and compelling visualizations Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) Deep knowledge of and experience with accounting and financial principles, controls, and processes Ability to effectively communicate and present financial concepts to various global audiences Business Partnering Skills (customer focus, sense of urgency and attention to detail) Experience building strategic partnerships and providing thought leadership, including value creation opportunities, and communicating insights effectively Progressive growth in financial analysis, strategic planning, business development, business decision support, or related roles with increasing scope and scale Experience applying strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities; including originating ideas, collecting data, establishing facts, performing analysis, drawing conclusions, and presenting a point of view to key stakeholders and business leaders Economic thinking skills (e.
g.
, marginal analysis, DMF/business cases, opportunity cost, risk optimization, capital consumed framework etc.
