Financial Analyst
Purpose
The Financial Analyst is responsible for the financial planning of our manufacturing operations.
The responsibilities include preparation of budgets, forecasts, financial models, cash forecasts, financial statements, performance analytics, customer payment coordination and management of our line of credit tools.
The Financial Analyst will support the leadership team with data analysis to report on effective business practices, refine cash forecasting and management processes and will assist in development of a treasury function in the organization.
Additionally, the role will support the CFO in refining budgeting and forecasting process, documentation for audit requirements, documentation for tax compliance and special projects as assigned.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) a plus.
Minimum of five to seven years of experience in progressively responsible roles in a financial planning and analysis role.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Review AR for open sales order issues, aging issues, and handling collections.
Coordinate corrections with plant accounting team.
Manage cash deposits, provide a weekly cash reconciliation, and develop a cash forecast.
Works with department leaders to improve key performance indicators and to analyze financial data.
Develops skills to be a super user of the Global Shop ERP system.
Position Responsibilities
Supports the financial strategy of the organization.
Assists in the preparation of all financial statements which includes but is not limited to income statements, balance sheets, statement of cash flows and tax documentation.
Responsible for managing annual budgeting and forecast process and developing process improvements to move to a 18-month rolling forecast.
Reports on budget to actual variances for the executive leadership team.
Analyze data to assess operational or project effectiveness.
Effectively and clearly communicates potential risks in a timely manner.
Prepares monthly financial information including key performance indicators, financial ratios and financial statements including variance explanations.
Refine and manage cash forecasting process.
Refine and manage sales analysis.
Develop supporting functions for new line of credit management tool.
Work with CFO to define treasury function for the business.
Tasks
Support annual process to develop an organizational budget and prepare monthly reports with variance to the finalized budget.
Provide remittance information and manage line of credit through banking tools provided by bank.
Prepare analysis of pledged AR to manage fee structure.
Prepare forecasts for cash weekly.
Prepare forecasts for sales and performance quarterly.
Analyze operation costs to evaluate performance of organization.
Prepare supporting documentation for compliance with all taxing authorities for state and federal jurisdictions
Prepare supporting information annual insurance renewal
Prepare supporting documentation for annual external review.
Manage accounts receivable aging to meet key performance metrics for days sales outstanding (DSO).
