Responsibilities and Expectations Perform various accounting tasks such as, but not limited to: Assist with accounting for share based compensation and other employee benefit programs facilitated by the Accounting department.
Review and adjust pledging to ensure funds for public entities are adequately protected.
Assist with the accounting and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
Review payroll entries for reasonableness, and prepare analysis schedules for payroll expense, employee-insurance costs, and payroll tax costs.
Perform daily general ledger analysis to monitor income and expense accounts for appropriate transaction posting.
Maintain intercompany balances and transactions.
Gain a full understanding of how each account affects the general ledger and the financial statements.
Assist with developing and implementing tools to enhance and streamline various accounting functions and processes.
Continually work towards making processes clear and more efficient to ensure that entries are posted correctly, and the financial statements are accurately represented.
Perform other tasks and duties that might arise from time to time in the business of the accounting department, including but not limited to: Assist with schedule preparation and other documentation for external and internal auditors as well as examiners.
Assist with developing meaningful dashboards for the executive team to assist with decision making and strategic planning.
Work with others bank-wide to understand their processes and the impact to the general ledger and reporting.
Be a contributing participant in Bank wide initiatives to help achieve optimal financial results and customer satisfaction.
Required Skills & Education Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting.
3+ years of applicable accounting experience.
Ability to be proactive, take initiative, and carefully monitor, follow through, and complete projects.
Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Proven organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks/projects.
Working knowledge of operational accounting and general ledger accounts.
