Occupational Summary
This position’s primary responsibilities and duties include the development and maintenance of the University’s operating budget, financial analysis and monitoring the overall budget performance of various departments, along with the creation and distribution of managerial reports.
Additionally, this role also provides back-up support to the Finance and Administration accounting staff in areas such as account reconciliations, journal entries, and the University’s annual financial audit.

Essential Functions:
Prepares, reviews, and administers operating budget.
Monitors departmental budgets on a monthly basis.
Reconciles accounts, research discrepancies, and initiates corrections; prepares journal entries.
Trains new departmental budget managers and schedules quarterly budget review meetings with budget managers.
Assists Senior Accounting Manager with monthly Solver reporting.
Responds in a knowledgeable, courteous, and professional manner to inquiries and requests for assistance regarding the budget and other activities of the Finance Office.
Prepares work papers and year-end entries for the University’s annual financial audit.
Cross trains on other positions in the Finance Office.
Required Qualifications/Education/Experience/Skills/Training:
Minimum of 3-4 years of experience working in an accounting or finance environment.
Preferred Associate or Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or 5 years work experience.
Preferred work experience using Microsoft Dynamics GP.
Working experience in using Microsoft products, particularly Excel.
Dependable, detail oriented, and high standards of professionalism.
Ability to work in a busy office setting and manage a variety of tasks.
Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
Ability to handle confidential information in a discreet manner.
Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Pay & Benefits
Range starts at $50,000/year
Position is full time (40hrs) and works 12 months per year.
Paid time off and benefits starting after first 30 days.
Approximately 20 days off with pay for observed holidays/breaks with an additional 2 weeks of vacation time accrued per year.
Tuition waiver for employee, spouse and eligible dependents after one year of employment.
